Portaledge & EscaRaft

Climbing & Portaledge Weekend

After a great day of climbing, why leave the cliff? Set up your portaledge and spend the night suspended on the rock face for a full immersion in the climb. Conversations become unforgettable, sensations are unique, and self-reflection almost inevitable. Eighty meters above the ground, experience something extraordinary—between sky and stone—for a night you won’t forget.

The Portaledge

A portaledge is a suspended platform designed for climbers tackling routes so long they cannot be completed in a single day. It allows one or more nights on the cliff. In Belgium, walls reach a maximum of about 120 meters, so this type of setup is rarely necessary. However, it’s not uncommon to see portaledges at Freyr. Some use them to train for major expeditions, others simply to enjoy a sunrise above the Meuse. Whatever the reason, spending a night suspended in a portaledge is an experience that leaves a lasting impression.
